Nfinit Foundation Artist Residency

Nfinit Foundation Artist Residency Application Guidelines

Nfinit Foundation Arts is committed to the support, development and sustainability of artists. The Nfinit Foundation Artist Residency (NFAR) supports and assists the Artists-In-Residence to facilitate their development of new work. Our focus is on artists of the Diaspora, POC, LGBTQ+ inclusive, at least 18 years of age, who are presently engaged in an artistic practice. This residency is limited to artists who reside in the five boroughs of New York City. Artists who are currently in contract with any arts gallery are ineligible.

We are offering artist residencies at Spaceworks Gowanus in Brooklyn for a 6-month cycle, and will select 2 artists to receive subsidized studio space with 24-hour access. Each studio is approximately 125-150 square feet in size, and can accommodate the practices of visual artists, sculptors and musicians, with limited space for movement practices. There is no darkroom or audio/sound equipment provided. For more information about Spaceworks Gowanus and studios, visit

The residency is an opportunity for artists to have deeper engagement with their practices. It is expected that artists spend substantial time in their studios. While artists’ practices in their studios are autonomous and self-directed, our program is designed for artists to work collaboratively with us in support of their processes. We take a hands-on engagement approach through scheduled check-in calls and studio visits focused on artistic development and support. The exhibition is a culminating event which runs for several weeks. The exhibition process is supported by the level of artist engagement during the residency period, as the artist engagement and process informs the curatorial statement and vision. It is also expected that artists participate in a scheduled open studios & artist talk event during the residency as part of Nfinit’s commitment to community engagement.
