Curated by Amy Andrieux

Artist Esteban Whiteside

I didn't know what to expect, I just knew I was nervous.

But when I entered the new MoCADA Museum’s cafe, and my mentor, Neyda Martinez, award winning filmmaker and Director of the New School/Parsons Media Management Program, introduced me to Amy Andrieux, award winning curator and the Executive Director of MoCADA, and Amy poured me a paper cup of Prosecco, along with the Black Aunty soundtrack in the background, the experience felt familiar. It felt like home.

Curatorial Statement:
"What is a question, and what does it do for us? Within the context of art, it provides an opening which in itself is possibility. Through the expression of Hernease Davis and Malik Azez, we see the workings of interior and exterior questioning that organically mirror and disrupt notions of bodily and societal structure. This toward a sense of inner and outer movement."
